The New Winchester StaBALL Powders Have Shipped

On Wednesday the new StaBALL powders showed up as available to order from Hodgdon’s website. Five pounds of Winchester StaBALL HD had shipped out to me a day later. The Reloading Data Center has also been updated with the load data for both powders, so it’s no longer necessary to have a copy of the Reloading Manual, though I think the articles are worth it. I decided not to get any StaBALL Match just yet. I don’t do much with smaller cartridges. Match looks really well suited for 223 with heavier projectiles. I think the smallest that I have is probably a 300 Savage, but I haven’t done a whole lot of loading for that. Mostly the 7mm-08 and larger are what I’ve been working on and Match does not seem to be a top performer, velocity-wise, in that genera. The HD should be in hand by the end of the month, which will allow for getting some data in colder temps. 27 Nosler, 300WM, and the 358 Norma Mag will be the first candidates. Stay tuned….
